How to store argan oil: caring for your bottle
Store Arganaire upright, with the bottle closed, in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and excessive heat. Choose a consistent place for it so that proper storage becomes part of your routine.
Choose the location before the display
A dressing-table arrangement may look attractive, but check whether sunlight reaches it during the day. A cupboard away from heat is a more practical choice than a sunny windowsill. Avoid leaving the bottle beside a radiator or in a hot car.
The US Food and Drug Administration explains that storage and handling affect cosmetic shelf life, and that exposure to air, sunlight and changing temperatures can alter a cosmetic’s smell, colour or texture. This is general cosmetic guidance, not stability testing of Arganaire.
Make careful handling a habit
- Prepare clean, dry hands before opening the bottle.
- Dispense what you need without deliberately touching the pipette to your hair or skin.
- Return the dropper and close the bottle after use.
- Keep water and other products out of the bottle.
- Keep the container and applicator clean.
These are practical handling precautions. They do not establish or extend a tested shelf life. Avoid topping up an older bottle with new oil: retaining the original bottle and its identifying information makes any product query easier to investigate.
How long does argan oil last?
Use the expiry or after-opening instructions supplied with your particular product. Do not substitute a generic internet estimate for the manufacturer’s product-specific guidance. This article does not assign Arganaire a fixed number of months because no batch-specific stability evidence was reviewed for it.

What if the oil looks or smells different?
Do not use appearance alone to declare a bottle safe or spoiled. If you notice an unexpected change, pause use and ask for product-specific advice. Include a photograph, when you first noticed the change and how the bottle was stored. A photograph cannot establish purity or microbiological safety.
